What are the main materials of blister packaging

The raw material of the blister product is only plastic […]

The raw material of the blister product is only plastic sheet, and the thickness of the film generally does not exceed 1.5MM. The commonly used sheets are: PVC, PET, PP, PS, and flocking sheet, gold-plated sheet and antistatic sheet based on this .

The plastic materials commonly used in PVC are soft, strong, and plastic. They can be made into transparent and various colors. Transparent PVC is commonly used to package electronics, cosmetics, toys and gifts.

PET (A-PET) is hard, good toughness, high strength, bright surface, environmentally friendly and non-toxic, with transparent and multi-color sheets. The disadvantage is that PET high-frequency heat sealing is more difficult and the price is much more expensive than PVC. This material is often replaced by users who require high-end products and environmental protection.

PS has low density (light weight), environmental protection, non-toxicity, very good plasticity, poor toughness and brittleness, and cannot be made into transparent materials. Therefore, it can only be made as a blister of the bottom bracket type. Because it is easy to crack, it is not suitable for recycling

PP material is particularly soft, tough, environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and high temperature resistant. It is often used as packaging for catering appliances or other high temperature products; but its plasticity is poor, the processing is difficult, the surface gloss is poor, and the color will become lighter during processing .

The physical properties of PET-G are similar to A-PET, but it can be heat-sealed at a high frequency, and its price is 80% more expensive than A-PET.

Food grade PP will not dissolve harmful substances under normal conditions and under high temperature. Food-grade plastics are all materials that meet the national food safety requirements and will not produce toxic substances during use. Food grade PP plastic can be made into any plastic packaging for food, such as special plastic bags for food, plastic boxes for food, drinking straws for food, etc. It is safe and non-toxic and has good low temperature resistance and high temperature resistance. PP is the only plastic that can be placed in a microwave oven for heating, and has high strength and folding resistance. It will not be damaged if it is dropped from 50,000 times at -20℃. Food grade PP sheets are commonly used in quick-frozen dumplings and microwave-heated food packaging.
